Saurischians

Dinosaurs can be divided into two groups:

• Ornithischian 
• Saurischian

;depending on the shape of their hip bones.





The word "Saurischian" is a Greek word that means "Reptile-like hipped." We call several kinds of dinosaurs Saurischians because their hip bones are pointing forwards, just as a modern reptile's hip bone.

Here are some of the sub-groups of Saurischian dinosaurs:

• Theropods
• Sauropods
