Ornithischians

Dinosaurs can be divided into two groups:

• Ornithischian 
• Saurischian

;depending on the shape of their hip bones.




The word "Ornithischian" is a Greek word that means "Bird-like hipped." We call several kinds of dinosaurs Ornithischians because their hip bones are pointing backwards, just as a bird's hip bone.

Here are some of the sub-groups of Ornithischian dinosaurs:

• Ornithopods
• Ankylosaurs
• Ceratopsians
• Stegosaurus
